The Positive Mental Health Group is an alliance of service users, supporters and mental health workers whose aim is to promote a greater understanding of mental health issues in the community. It does this by: |

promoting positive images of mental health | |||||

creating better awareness of mental health issues | |||||

|
working with communities who may face social exclusion | |||||
|
|
supporting individuals and groups to promote mental health within their communities | |||||
|
|
encouraging national mental health celebrations such as World Mental Health Day | |||||

|
being involved in community events which celebrate Birmingham's diversity and promote mental health | |||||

The group is open to
anyone who is interested in promoting positive mental health messages within
the wider community. The Positive Mental Health Group meets on the last
Thursday of each month from 2.30pm - 4.30pm at Birmingham Voluntary Services
Council, 138 Digbeth, City Centre. PLEASE NOTE JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2008 MEETINGS WILL TAKE PLACE AT ST MARTINS CHURCH IN THE BULLRING |
